>Post 1 Celebates Its 75th Anniversary
On Saturday, May 15th, 2010 – coincidentally Armed Forces Day – Post #1 participated in a 5:00 p.m. concelebrated Mass at the Immaculate Conception R/C Church in Astoria. Immediately followed by a Dinner-Dance reception at Riccardo’s By the Bridge.
In attendance were National Commander Fred Schwally, National Chaplain Rev. Anthony Dell'Anno, National First Vice Commander Leo Haley, National Adjutant Raymond Powers, National Director James Finkel Sr., National Executive Director Jose M. Garcia, New York State Department Commander Richard Dugal, New York State Department Adjutant Gerald Knapp, New York State Department Treasurer Paul Cuskey, New York State Department Judge Advocate Michael Connors, Esq., Queens Chapter Commander Victor La Magna, Knights of Columbus New York State Deputy Arthur J. Harris, K of C NY District # 1 4th Degree Master Richard J. Steimle, and K of C Council 11449 Grand Knight Joseph Marino Sr.
Special Guests: Lt. Col Francis C. Licameli, Instructor US Military Academy, West Point, NY and the Fordham Univ. Cadet “Persing Rifles” Color Guard.
Many of the Queens County CWV Posts were represented, most notably St. Sebastian Post from Woodside NY. Many K of C Councils were also represented.
At the dinner dance, Astoria Post 1 received Proclamations from the New York State Senate and the New York City Council in recognition of its 75th Anniversary.
